The Story

We Have a Cat on Our Team.

Read carefully โ€” you'll use this text as evidence in every writing task ahead.

"Let's be nice to her!" said Coach Biscuit. But the dogs looked nervous. "We never had a cat on our team!" they said. "Maybe Cathy never had a dog on her team. Now, let's play a game," Coach Biscuit said. "But can she play fetch? She's not a dog. Only dogs can play fetch," Rusty said.

Coach Biscuit said, "Cathy, this is your first day. So you can watch and join the game anytime." The game began. Cathy watched silently.

"Can somebody get the ball? It's going over the fence!" Rusty shouted. They bumped into each other and fell down. Then, Cathy jumped into the air and got the ball. She quickly passed it over.

The team won. "Maybe," Rusty said slowly, "difference isn't always wrong."

Generate & Answer Questions

Choose 2+ of the 9 STAR lenses and write open-ended questions that dig deeper into this scene:

TEXT ์ œ์‹œ๋ฌธ

"A cat?" Rusty whispered. "Cats don't play fetch. This is a dog thing." "Only dogs can play fetch." Cathy watched silently. Cathy said nothing. She just watched, learned, and waited for her moment.

Assumption
Question the idea that "only dogs can play fetch." Write a question, then answer it.
Conditions: reveal a hidden assumption or stereotype ยท include 1+ piece of text evidence ยท explain your reason using "because"
Perspective
Write a question from Cathy's point of view, then answer it.
Conditions: you may use "I" ยท include 1+ feeling word (worried, nervous, lonelyโ€ฆ) ยท describe Cathy's thoughts or feelings
Chain of Thought
Ask why Coach Biscuit made Cathy wait, and answer step by step.
Conditions: use First, Next, Finally ยท show the order of events ยท keep a logical flow

Dialogic Role Play

Pick two characters. Write a 6-turn dialogue built entirely from questions โ€” at least 3 must be real questions, and each must connect naturally to the line before it. Then practice it as a role play and record it.
